Canadian National Railway Company (CN) is looking for a highly motivated person to fulfill a full-time (40h/week) Intern, Development, Security, and Operations Analyst position in Montreal, QC from May - August 2024.
Job Summary
The Intern, Development, Security, and Operations Analyst is responsible for building and managing the Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) processes to fulfill functional and non-functional requirements from the development teams. The role operates with an agile methodology mindset and is an integral member of a team that works with Designers, Developers, Test Automation, and other Development Operations (DevOps) specialists, including offshore and onshore consultants as well as permanent employees.
Major Responsibilities
Define and develop automation pipelines and related processes aligned with CI and CD functional and non-functional requirementsParticipate in design analysis in delivering and grooming the engineering backlog storiesAnalyze and investigate test results, troubleshoot issues, and fix defectsLook for process improvements and new considerations that increase efficiencyEnsure the Development, Security, and Operations capabilities comply with CN Information SecurityParticipate in daily scrum team meetings, sprint planning, and retrospectiveCollaborate with other team members to influence the software delivery lifecycle to improve the overall quality and reliability of products and deliverablesHelp with product and process documentation
Requirements
Knowledge of DevOps and related concepts like containerization (i.e., using Docker, Kubernetes) related to CI and pipeline managementKnowledge of Cloud concepts, Linux and Windows Command Line (CLI)Knowledge of CI and CD platforms like Azure DevOps (ADO) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such as Terraform or equivalent technologiesKnowledge of scripting languages like PowerShell or Python to drive automation requirementsKnowledge of the agile software development approachSolves problems to create value and applies critical thinkingCollaborates with others and shares informationBasic knowledge of Java programing language and microservice event-driven architecture concepts
Education
Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent field
Any experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an asset
