Description
Provide leadership and support for all current and future production Industrial Engineering and Global Manufacturing System (GMS) related activities to achieve plant goals and objectives.
The Role:
Promote safe work practices as highest priority and implement objectives of the Workplace Safety System Drive plant ergonomic activities for both current and future production Assist plant in attaining Business Plan Deployment (BPD) goals and objectives Direct resources in the implementation of Industrial Engineering roles & responsibilities Prepare and Manage CAP and talent development process for all IE's Assess IE's skill set and execute plan to correct inefficiencies, overseeing employee and student development Facilitate the implementation of GMS training and education to support continuous improvement Support department throughput improvement (TIP) initiatives Lead team to creatively deploy automation to improve ergo, job loading and productivity both on the line and in material delivery and presentation Complete labor reporting assignments for GPS operations, including headcount & budget development Provide Financial Department with headcount forecast Attain IE budget and headcount objectives Conduct internal GMS calibrations and support external calibrator visits Champion GMS Identify and communicate continuous improvement opportunities Conduct specific manpower and cost studies (rate changes, sourcing, etc) Direct resources to support indirect labor worker efficiency studies Attend and participate in Staff functions Participate in IE Manager Network Meetings Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with union Drive coordination to track and remove containment labor Support local negotiations by providing information and recommendations Identify and communicate opportunities in headcount staffing Identify and communicate best practices.
Preferred and Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering or a related area required Masters degree preferred Minimum of 5 years Industrial Engineering experience High level of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of organization High level of analytical ability Experience in propulsion (preferred)
