The High Voltage Battery Controls Team within the Electrified Systems Engineering organization is looking for an experienced high voltage controls engineer. The controls engineer will be responsible for developing control strategies for Ford's electrified vehicle portfolio. Specific responsibilities will include our battery, power conversion, and charging modules (BECM, DCDC, BCCM/I, OBGI, and OBCC). You will directly shape the future of EV controls to deliver outstanding customer experience while also meeting industry standards and government regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
What you'll do...
Lead the controls strategy for battery, power conversion, digital charging communication strategies, and support the development of new high voltage control modules related to charging. Author and release new requirements through our controlled Interfacing Feature Specification documents for power conversion modules to support multiple programs through Global Product Development milestones. Support vehicle control system teams, architecture teams, and design release engineers to develop new strategies and cascade requirements. Create and lead teams of peers to investigate controls strategy updates that could drive new requirements changes through our established controls release processes. Ensure controls strategy compliance with industry standards, regulations, and corporate governance compliance for the global market (US/EU/CN). High voltage controls engineering expert for high voltage charging standards to support all our high voltage modules.
QUALIFICATIONS
You'll have...
BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or equivalent engineering. (MS+ preferred) Minimum 3 years of team leading or project management experience. Minimum of 5 years of product development and systems engineering experience in automotive. Preferred experience in software development processes, specification, and validation. Minimum of 3 years in EV controls. Preferred controls experience in charging/power conversion, battery (including different chemistries), and power electronics

Familiar with different SW standards, government regulations, and processes such as: SAE J1772, ISO 15118-2/3/20, IEC 61851, GTR-22, and ACC-II. Team player with capability working with cross functionally. Experience creating and leading a team of peers. Strong oral and written communications skills, with ability to present to higher levels of management Quick learner with ability to manage multiple issues across different functional domains Experience using the following software tools: JIRA, JAMA, MagicDraw, CANalyzer
