Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Urban Studies, Community Development or related field from an accredited educational institution, andFive years' progressively responsible supervisory experience in comprehensive programs involving social service delivery, facility management and community development activities required.An equivalent combination of education and job related experience may substitute for the educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements:
Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on division/department/service assignment.
Essential Functions
Encourages collaborative efforts within the community to address social issues and concerns facing Scottsdale and the southwest region.Directs the development and funding of programs with social service, educational, governmental, and private agencies.Develops a five-year Plan for Human Services, including demographics and social indicators, which are incorporated into the City's General Plan.Serves as staff liaison to the Human Services Commission and represents the organization on regional committees and task forces related to human services issues.Negotiates and administers contracts and rental terms for human services agencies to address human service's needs.Coordinates with the Community Assistance Office the funding process and contracts for Community Development Block Grant, HOME, Scottsdale Cares, and General Fund dollars, including providing funding to non-profit agencies from Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).Develops departmental goals, operational objectives, and budgets.
