About the Opportunity
The LAC HR Generalist is an essential partner to our growing business. The LAC HR Generalist supports the organization by promoting a culture of teamwork, respect, and integrity while navigating the complexities of workplace challenges. You will be responsible for partnering with local leadership team to implement HR programs and initiatives in line with Global HR strategy (for the region). You will become a coach and mentor to leadership. You will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including administering benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. This role is part of a passionate and results-driven team where innovators and creative problem solvers grow and thrive. Where you will make an impact
Guide LAC Ellucian employees and leaders in alignment with Ellucian's values through challenges including performance, conduct and conflict resolutionAssist with LAC employee onboarding process (employment agreements, Welcome Kit, Office Depot registration, mobile request process, etc.)Create and facilitate new employees' orientation for our three Latin America locations (Mexico, Colombia & Chile)Support benefits enrollment and act as the first point of contact for benefits related questions, escalating to the Global Program Manager when necessaryCreate a vacation tracking process for each LAC location and align process with company's HRISAssist with delivering various human resource plans and procedures, development and implementation of HR policies and procedures and ensure effective communication of new or updated policies and procedures.Handles employment-related inquiries from employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate areasEmployee offboarding ensuring managers comply with company process and local regulations, conduct exit interviews and complete proper documentationDesign and develop initiatives and programs to support our people strategy and core valuesManage employee relations and investigations as required, representing HR at related meetings and hearings (employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigation)Maintain compliance with company policies as well as local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.Keep employee profiles in an organize and logic way that facilitates easy access when requiredMaintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes in our 3 LAC locations in human resources and employment law.Provide coaching and direction to employees, facilitate communication, and help resolve conflicts that impact employee engagementParticipate in key People Team projects to drive transformational growth, including work on talent management, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and learning and development initiatives
What you will bring
Proven experience of 1 - 3 years as HR Generalist, within a dynamic service or IT environmentKnowledge and practical application of employment lawsFluency in EnglishStrong sense of accountability and qualityExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesMust be flexible and comfortable with managing multiple prioritiesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communicator who is used to deal with people at different levels within an international organizationExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and organizational skills with an emphasis on attention to detailSelf-starter with proven ability to work independentlyProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Passionate about delivering a best-in-class employee experience
