  WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

  The Human Resources Business Partner Manager serves as a strategic business partner for assigned client group (s). This position provides functional expertise, leadership, support, and guidance to executive management to build people capability in support of business goals and objectives. Acting independently and/or in partnership with HR specialists, directs and administers HR programs which may include recruiting, colleague relations and communication, coaching and counseling, training, benefits, compensation, talent planning and succession, leadership and colleague development, performance management, and diversity.

  What you will do

  Partners with executive management and senior leaders to provide support, guidance, and strategic input regarding Human Resources issues and initiatives.Serves as senior advisor to executive managers through proactively surfacing and addressing difficult issues and concerns within assigned client groups.Provides clear HR guidance to senior management; ensures HR policies and processes are consistently communicated and administered throughout all business situations while balancing colleague needs and the bank's business objectives.Develops human resources plans, including workforce planning that will proactively help clients manage their business and respond to specific business needs. Comfortable with leading HR project team.Assesses client needs regarding issues such as talent acquisition, retention, job and organizational structure, colleague development, etc.Consults with human resources specialists to develop multi-disciplined approaches and/or to strategize on solutions to complex issues that require functional expertise and direction.Administers a variety of HR programs that include performance management, identification and development of high p[potential colleagues, job rotation and career development, internships, terminations (involuntary and voluntary), as well as partners with other HR specialists in the areas of compensation, benefits, recruiting, training and development, leaves of absence diversity and new colleague orientation.Provides oversight and direction of the performance management process across the assigned business unit(s). Partners with managers to improve colleague performance by identifying and analyzing human resources related problems; recommends solutions to management and participates in the resolution of issues through coaching, counseling and career development.Resolves colleague relations issues fairly, swiftly and in compliance with applicable legal and company requirements to minimize potential liability. Consults with legal counsel as needed.Facilitates meetings and drives team building and other initiatives across various departments to strengthen and promote the culture and values of the organization.Coordinates the Annual Officer Review (AOR) process for assigned client group to ensure consistency in rating system and administration of compensation awards.Manages all monthly, quarterly and annual reports such as turnover, exit interviews, colleague development plans, etc.Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipates legislation, enforces adherence to requirements and advises management on needed actions.Participates in development of company-wide human resources programs and policies which support the business objectives of the bank.

  Must-Have

  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experienceMinimum of ten years of human resources generalist experience or a combination of 10 years of employee relations, human resources generalist or other human resources specialization or human resources consulting experienceMinimum of five years human resources experience in Banking or Financial Services preferred

  Skills and Knowledge

  Demonstrated employee relations skills including conducting and documenting investigations and coaching and counseling colleague and managersAbility to act objectively while coaching colleagues and management through issues that are complex, difficult, or emotional in natureThorough knowledge of federal and California employment lawsKnowledge of all HR functional areas including colleague relations, recruitment and retention, compensation and benefits administration, performance management processes, career and organizational developmentMust have consultative, influencing, strategic thinking and problem solving skillsAbility to make recommendations to effectively resolve issues and use judgment that is consistent with the bank's standards, policies, practices or with regulations and lawsStrong project management, communication and presentation skillsMust be a strong executor who has the ability to assist with strategy development at all levels of the organization to drive business performanceAbility to independently interact and build relationships with all levels of management is imperative, including executive managementMust be an effective team player able to work across multiple functions and disciplines and possess strong collaboration skills to manage issues across functions across functions and with business leadership and peersAbility to travel to different work locations

  Compensation

  Starting base salary: $141,830 - $263,408 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
