Job Description
The Sales manager Represents the property in the development of market segment(s) and new customer relationships while maintaining existing relationships with assigned accounts while consistently striving to maximize revenue in rooms, public space, food and beverage and ancillary products and services.
Job Responsibilities
· Represent hotel by soliciting, responding to and negotiating with persons requiring group accommodations with or without meeting space and/or on-site (property) catering, based upon market segment and account files assigned by the Director of Sales (and Marketing).
· Represent property in significant interactions dealing with customers relative to sales and operational questions, concerns, and issues.
Meet client timelines and deliverables for installation via close coordination with client partners. In order to meet our commitments, job duties may change or new ones may be assigned without formal notice.· Negotiate contracts with customers and commission agreements with third party agencies.
· Initiate the preparation of proposals and/or contracts to advise prospective customers primarily of the guest rooms, meeting space and/or banquet date, space and rate availability . Develop and quote prices for same.
· Engage in outside sales activities t o discuss business opportunities and entertain customers in local and assigned markets (percentage of travel dependent on specific market).
· Direct site visits and H.O.S.T. programs for respective accounts and participates in tradeshows, industry and customer events.
· Attend weekly sales departmental meeting and other scheduled meetings to support business operations, e.g., tentative review, lost business review, group-pick up, etc.
· Conduct site inspections with potential customers, visiting guest rooms, meeting space and banquet facilities, as well as other property facilities.
Qualifications
? Bachelor's degree preferred with a minimum of 3+ years of business-to-business, outside sales experience focused on new account generation, preferably selling a service
? Shown success in developing new business and generating sales leads within an assigned sales territory
? Strong presentation and communication skills with a consultative selling approach
? Ability to influence decision makers at all levels of an organization, from a CEO to a front office professional
? Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce.
? A valid driver?s license
