Purpose of the role:
We are on a mission to invest more money into media and progressively drive more business impact, more value from this investment, to reinvest into growth. The Global Media Manager is a key role focused on enabling markets to responsibly invest more into media, implementing and scaling best practice.
Overall the role will unlock faster share growth for Diageo’s full portfolio of brands, by ensuring that paid media is used effectively throughout the purchase journey, from awareness to transaction, on their terms.
A key connector for Media Leads in market, you will further develop our media community, enabling the scaling of test and learn and best practice
In partnership with Media Operations you will unlock greater diverse scale for our brands through scaling tech partners, biddable best practice and the overlay of data.
Partnering with our global media agency you will support our global media partnerships workstream ensuring that we unlock greater value for markets from our media investment and build mutually beneficial relationships with key partners
In partnership with the Responsible Marketing team you will maintain Diageo’s high standards for responsible marketing and media investment whilst ensuring Diageo is at the leading edge of media innovation
What you will be doing:
Ensure that media strategy is evolved and adopted with media leads in markets, using the power of our vibrant media community.Drive a culture within the media community of innovation, testing and scaling approaches with media partners.Oversee our Trusted Marketplace and drive the implementation of global media partnerships, ensuring that we unlock and utilise value derived from global consolidation of media investment.Embed across our business best practice techniques & media planning principles that drive effective and efficient progressive media plans, partnering with markets and regional hubs to implement our global media strategyEnable markets to deliver Progressive Media goals and support Diageo Society 2030 goal, supporting under-represented voices, communities and businesses through building and scaling global and multi-market progressive media initiativesPartner with Connections Planning team to ensure that Media Principles and best practice is considered in Connections Planning and that clear ways of working are defined in the Strategic activation phase.Apply data driven insights to unlock diverse scale for our brands partnering with the Marketing Operations team.
What you will have:
We’re looking for someone who can bring strong media knowledge and relationship building skills to partner to inspire change.A strong understanding of media & the digital ecosystem and can talk comfortably with internal and external teams across all aspects of media.At least 7 years of media experience. The right candidate will be able to demonstrate how they have led successful marketing strategies and driven exceptional growth at scale across a business.A comprehensive record of ‘full-funnel’ experimentation, including extensive experience in planning and activating biddable and e-Commerce media.Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must be able to communicate complex information in a simple, straight-forward, persuasive way.Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while being extremely thoroughAbility to influence, persuade and lead broader teamsAbility to confidently present plans and ideas, often to a senior audienceSelf-starter who is comfortable with a rapidly-changing environmentUsed to working with a variety of partners and building relationships
