Robert Half's Full Charge Bookkeeper position is something you might be interested in. This long-term contract / temporary Full Charge Bookkeeper opportunity is based in Riverside, Connecticut. If you're comfortable with establishing and maintaining the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives, as well as all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including the preparation of financial statements, you could be a good candidate for this position.
Responsibilities
Tracking fixed assets to produce depreciation schedules
Performing reconciliations for bank and general ledgers, as well as payroll processing
Supervising accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections
Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and statements regarding income and cash flows
Studying and implementing federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and communicating with management on needed actions
Maintaining historical records by filing documents
Completing monthly, quarterly, and year end close, on time and in an accurate manner Requirements - Ability to multitask, collaborate and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds in a fast-paced environment
Can work independently with minimal supervision
Show the ability to adapt and learn new techniques and skill sets when required
High school diploma or similar accreditation, and an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended
Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills
A deep understanding of accrual and cash basis of accounting
Prior payroll experience preferred
Financial reconciliation experience highly valued
Expertise in Microsoft Excel
Good understanding of cash reconciliations
Background working with Balance Sheet Reconciliation
Practical knowledge of Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
Solid understanding of Quickbooks Online
Earlier work involving bank reconciliations
ADP - Payroll experience
Adeptness in Paychex Payroll
Experience with ADP - Payroll
General familiarity with account reconciliation
Demonstrated knowledge of Pension Funds
Account reconciliation experience highly preferred
Previous experience working with Credit Card Reconciliation
Strong familiarity with 401k - RRSP Administration
Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports
Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree experience desired3 or more years of experience in the bookkeeping field
