Exciting opportunity to join a growing analytics team as the organization is embarking on a digital transformation journey driven by data analytics. The Financial Analyst will specialize in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and financial planning plays a crucial role in helping organizations make informed decisions regarding strategic transactions and overall financial strategy. The Financial Analyst’s responsibilities include performing research, analysis, and support for operations, analyzing financial statements and reports, developing complex financial models, and assisting with financial planning, and budgeting processes. The Financial Analyst will also be responsible for providing business owners financial guidance and will be actively involved in the monthly close and reporting process. They will be responsible for providing detailed reporting, analysis, and support on key P&L and Balance Sheet accounts. They should not be afraid to challenge the business and the status quo and be a self-starter, driven for results, proactive and able to juggle many competing priorities. Other responsibilities and duties may be assigned as determined. The Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing the needs of the various functional business areas within IWS and to provide financial insight into the day-to-day operations.

Job Responsibilities:
Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A):
Conduct financial analysis to evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures.
Perform due diligence, including reviewing financial statements, contracts, and other relevant documents.
Create financial models to assess the financial impact of proposed transactions.
Collaborate with legal and other teams to ensure compliance with regulations and mitigate risks.
Financial Planning:
Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning.
Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insights for strategic decision-making.
Work closely with various departments to gather and analyze financial information for budgeting purposes.
Prepare financial reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
Analysis and Reporting:
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to assess company performance.
Provide regular reports and insights on financial performance to support decision-making.
Conduct variance analysis to explain budget and forecast deviations.
Communication and Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and legal departments.
Present financial findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
Communicate complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Skills
Proven proficiency in spreadsheets, databases and financial software applications
Excellent reporting, presenting and communication skills
Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
Ability to work with large datasets

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education: bachelor’s degree, preferably with a major in finance, accounting, economics or statistics
Must have M&A experience
Proven experience working as a financial analyst, preferably with 3-5 years of experience
Previous experience in the logistics or waste industries preferred
Previous experience with capital expenditures, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting required
