Job Summary:
This role will play a key part of the reporting process for the core business across the group, ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of financial information to all stakeholders. The Financial Accountant will ensure accounting policies and controls are applied consistently and a high standard of commentary is provided on financial results.
Key responsibilities and duties
Preparation of month end reporting pack for individual entities, in particular Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival
Analyse variances against forecast and provide commentary
Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
Liaise with Festival managers and other key stakeholders to ensure revenue and expenses are accurate
Liaise with festival stakeholders and provide information as required
Preparation of monthly management reports required by internal stakeholders and regional office
Accountability for preparation of accurate and insightful variance analysis and commentary
Capital expenditure reporting and analysis
Liaising with external auditors and accountants as part of preparation of financial statements
Review of processes to ensure internal controls standards are met and documented
Drive process improvement for transactional and financial accounting teams including implementation of new controls required
Perform administration & integrity of the general ledger to ensure accuracy of financial transactions
Assist the Group Reporting Manager with the consolidation and reporting of results and acting as key liaison for accounting policies and issues
Special assignments as directed by the Group Reporting Manager and Finance Director
Skills and experience
Experience in month end and financial statements preparation is essential
Proven track record in ability in managing multiple projects within a fast paced, creative and challenging environment
Experience across complex group structures
Exposure to mid-to-large size ERP system is beneficial (Oracle ideal)
Strong attention to detail and can-do attitude
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Creative industries experience very highly regarded
