  About Our Role

  Simplot works closely with Australian farmers throughout Tasmania, NSW, Victoria and Queensland to grow quality vegetables for processing throughout our Australian frozen and shelf stable product operations.

  An opportunity currently exists in the full-time permanent position of Field Officer within our Raw Procurement division. Reporting to the Agricultural Manager - Devonport, this Field Officer role will be the main Simplot point of contact for our pea, bean and carrot growers across Tasmania's Northern Midlands and work closely with the growers to manage our cropping and harvest operations. The successful candidate will spend time both in the field, and connecting with our wider team in the office (a tools of the trade vehicle is provided with this role).

  Working Monday to Friday (with weekend work required over the summer / harvest period) - this is a great opportunity for those with a background in, and passion for agriculture who are looking to take the next step in their career.

  What You Will Do

  Contracting of pea, bean and carrot growing to support overall crop volumes.

  Intake forecasting.

  Manage planting and harvesting programs.

  Build and maintain strong relationships with our growers.

  Accurate data and record keeping.

  Provide technical advice to growers to ensure optimum yield.

  Contribute to team activities and projects.

  About You

  Possess a 100% commitment to health & safety in the workplace.

  Reside in the vicinity of the Northern Midlands.

  Demonstrated experience with an Agricultural role - though we are open to considering candidates from a related industry.

  Possess a current drivers licence.

  Willingness to learn, energetic & motivated outlook.

  Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.

  Be a self starter with excellent time management skills.

  Ability to make well considered decisions.

  Good written and interpersonal communication skills.

  Intermediate user of MS Office suite of products.

  Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment (incl. urine based D&A screening).
