Job Description
Senior Data Compliance Counsel reports directly to the Head of Data Compliance APAC and be the central contact person for all inquiries relating to organizational data protection as well as applicable data protection laws in the Philippines. Furthermore, the role is responsible for supporting Continental in complying with the requirements of the Data Protection laws in the Philippines and the Continental internal mandatory regulations on Data Protection. Another central topic is the protection of the privacy of customers, employees and other stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Advisescorporate departments and subsidiaries on current data protection issues and support the implementation of new mandatory regulations.Independently reviews and documentsinquiries regarding data protection issues.Reviews and documentswithin the scope of the company policy and procedure.Reviews data processing operations in the context of entrusted processing and advising the relevant legal requirements as well as reviewing agreements on entrusted processingSupportsthe identification and assessment of data protection risks, including draft of data protection impact assessment.Supportsthe prevention, detection, response to, monitoring and reporting of data protection breaches.Prepares and implements employee and management training.Worksclosely with the Legal, Compliance, lT Security and Human Relations functions to develop and monitor policies and standards applicable to the business and in compliance with the respective national and internal regulations.Servesas the primary point of contact and liaison for regulatory agencies on all data protection related matters under the Philippines Data Protection laws and other applicable lawsServesas the contact point for data subjects on privacy matters.Additional Information

QualificationsAdmitted to the Philippines bar. Postgraduate degree in law. Foreign additional education (e.9., J.D. or LLM.) preferred.5 + years international working experience as an associate/partner in a multinational law firm and/or corporate counsel in a multinational corporation in the Philippines3 + years experiences in working in data protection and cybersecurityBasic knowledge of GDPR and its concept is requiredExcellent English communication skills (written and verbal)Other Asian language is a plusKnowledge in the area of information technology desirableStrong communication skills, strategic mindset as well as proactive, structured and independent way of workingHigh level of commitment, confident appearance and strong team skillsWillingness to travelCompany Description
