Job Description

　　The BAE Systems FAST Labs Sensor Technologies (ST) product line focuses on R&D of multi-modal sensing and response technologies and capabilities that align with our Business Area and Customer market demands. Ranging from next generation lasers, precision beam pointing, advanced seekers, and expendables, ST has established itself as a market leader in the development of EO/IR and RF component technologies with a history of developing capabilities with Technology Readiness Levels of 3 to 6.

　　In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Electro-Optic Sensing Solutions (EOSS) Technical Area in the FAST Labs Sensor Technologies product line. The EOSS Technical Area Lead is responsible for Technical Area pipeline, capture, and revenue to meet Product Line and FAST Labs objectives; execution and growth of the EOSS portfolio of programs ($45M/yr) and supervision of direct reports in accordance with BAE Systems, FAST Labs, and the Product Line vision and strategy.

　　In this role you will:Partner with Chief Scientists to develop Near, Mid, and Long term Technical Area strategies to meet FL financial objectives and develop technology and capabilities for transition to our Business Areas,Identify and allocate resources required to achieve the Technical Area strategy,Develop group capture and leadership skills; partner with Scientists and Engineering to develop staff technical skills,Execute the portfolio of programs with a multi-disciplinary cross-functional team that draws upon team scientists, members of the FL Research Engineering Team and our Program Management Office (PMO) to staff programs with nominally 100 FTEs of talent,Align external customer goals with internal business expectations for successful delivery of Product Line salients and Business Area transition opportunities,Shape and capture new opportunities aligned with the ST strategy, andApply holistic leadership to set group culture, behavior, development, and training expectations.

　　This position reports directly to the ST Product Line Director and is based out of our Merrimack, NH facility, other locations will be considered as a function of candidate mobility to travel and existing communications infrastructure. This position requires virtual and in-person collaboration with customers and staff across all BAE Systems ES Facilities.

　　Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

　　Required Education, Experience, & Skills

　　Active DoD SECRET clearance and ability to obtain DoD Top Secret / SCIDemonstrated business leadership and/or complex program management skillsAbility to build and maintain relationships across product lines, business areas, and the customer community.Proven performance in management, mentoring, coaching and communication skills.Proven ability to lead a diverse complex organization across multiple sites.Experience working with DARPA and DoD research labs (such as AFRL, ONR, NRL, ARL) and DoD FFRDCs and UARCs (such as GTRI, MIT-LL, JHU/APL).Experience in leading teams to solve complex technical problemsDemonstrated success in new business capture including opportunity shaping, customer engagement, and proposal writingDemonstrated holistic leadership skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and exceptional oral and written communication skillsUnderstanding of existing BAE Systems markets and customers

　　Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

　　Active DoD Top Secret / SCI clearance.Experience and demonstrated success in capture of DoD R&D opportunities.Experience executing and supervising the execution of internal and external R&D activities.Experience in leading teams of teams to solve complex technical problemsPractical understanding of product development and the DoD product development lifecycle.Ability to define, develop and maintain critical skills in support of the business.Highly experienced in facilitation and cross-organization communications.Experience with resource planning, staff development and management reporting.Exceptional ability to allocate and assign resources to technical tasks and manage the resources toward efficient utilization within a mix of direct line and functionally matrixed staffing.Demonstrated critical thinking skills and decision-making abilities.Experienced in reviewing and approving Basis of Estimates and proposals including assessment of associated risks and opportunities, applicability to the near-mid-long term group strategy, and relevancy to transition partners.

　　Pay Information

　　Full-Time Salary Range: $159300 - $270800

　　Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
