Facilities Supervisor
Location: Ithaca, NY
Pay: $69,000 to $87,000 (depending upon experience)
* This is a Second (3pm-11pm) or a Third Shift (11pm-7am) Opportunity *
This position collaborates with the Management Staff in establishing and completing facility related projects for Plant 1 facilities with support from the Facilities Engineer to ensure timely completion. Supervise and oversee the day-to-day activities which ensure that the facilities are continuously able to support all production and non-production functions, processes, and areas necessary for safe, high-quality, timely and efficient production.
Key responsibilities:
Facilitate effective utilization, operation, maintenance, repair, testing and necessary replacement of facility support systems HVAC, air compressors, vacuum pumps, chillers, wastewater, underground tank systems, etc. to assure facilities and related equipment are available to meet required schedules and customer expectations and are in line with business goals.
Resolve problems by collaborating with engineers, quality assurance, production, and maintenance employees on solutions.
Supervise both the Electrical and HVAC Journeymen within the facilities up to 20 skilled trades employees.
The individual is responsible for monitoring and planning materials, equipment, documentation, and processes relative to the operations of the facilities group.
Advise and assist in the employee planning analysis relative to employee work schedules, training on proper usage of equipment, performance appraisals, design, and implementation of work procedures, and informing personnel on appropriate housekeeping and safety requirements and policies.
Coordinate building and grounds activities to ensure the facility is both functionally and visually appealing.
Ensure accurate facility drawings and schematics including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems are maintained.
Coordinate completion of required records preventive maintenance, downtime, new projects, sustaining projects, and personnel issues.
Coordinate completion of required reports with support as required from the Facilities Engineer.
Initiate capital appropriations requests to support ongoing maintenance and operation of existing facility support systems with input from the Facilities Engineer.
Conduct contractor coordination including on site pre-job briefing.
Coordinate and manages layout modifications in the office area.
Fire suppression system management and support in collaboration with the safety department.
Coordinate plant shutdown activities related to facility system s maintenance.
Education and Experience:
Associates Degree or equivalent technical degree and experience or
Bachelor s Degree in a related field preferred
2+ years supervisory experience.
Electrical knowledge required - New York State Apprenticeship a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
