Residency: Candidates must have been legal residents of Warren, Washington, Saratoga, Hamilton, or Essex County for at least one month immediately preceding the date of the written test.
Duties: This is critical clerical work which involves responsibility for performing complex secretarial support for an Executive-Level Administrator at BOCES requiring a high degree of professionalism, mature judgement, and knowledge of programs and procedures. Work is performed in accordance with general instructions received from the Executive Administrator with considerable leeway for initiative and independent decision making in carrying out assignments and maintaining a responsive, Customer-focused office consistent with the BOCES mission. The position calls for the exercise of extraordinary discretion and confidentiality on the part of the Executive Secretary due to the sensitivity of information within the scope of responsibility. Supervisor responsibilities may be delegated or assigned to the Executive Secretary. Does related work as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from a regionally accredited NYS registered college or university with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related field and two (2) years of experience in an office setting; OR Associate degree in Business administration, secretarial Science, Computer Science, Paralegal Studies or related field and four (4) years of office experience OR Graduation from high school or possession of GED and up to six (6) years of office experience.
