  The Topeka Capital-Journal is seeking an enterprise reporter to produce exclusive stories that will focus on solutions-based reporting and service journalism for community issues.

  This reporting position will be one that oversees education and local government while producing solutions-oriented stories about homelessness, housing, wage inequity, school access, rising grocery prices and so many other ideas that meet at the intersections of these important community topics. This beat offers the opportunity to go out and find the best stories.

  This reporter is expected to consistently break exclusive news. He or she will identify, produce and post stories, photos and video quickly and accurately across multiple platforms, including social media.

  In this role, you will: Research, report and produce compelling content that continuously grows a following by informing and engaging readers. Connect with readers through social media. Provide thoughtful analysis of complex issues. Produce watchdog journalism that leads to change. Use real-time metrics to respond to user demand and reader interest. Work with newsroom leaders to shape storytelling to meet audience needs and interests tailored to appropriate platforms. Contribute to the community's greater good through impactful journalism. Here's what you need: Bachelor's degree At least a year of professional journalism experience High-level writing, communication and time management skills Demonstrated ability to work well on deadline A valid driver's license and reliable transportation How to Apply:
