Job Summary:
Trane Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a position in our Engineering Lab Maintenance Team as a Test Technician II. This position is based out of Trane, Tyler Texas Location in the Engineering Lab. The primary role of this position is Lab Facility Maintenance in support of new product development Testing equipment, sustainability, and quality improvement projects. This role is to work on and maintain facilities and projects to support Testing Lab functions and to work with Lab engineering to come up with improvement projects to reduce down time within the lab facilities. The area requires a high level of problem solving, troubleshooting, organization, and collaboration. This position works closely with Lab engineering and other lab personnel to complete projects.
Responsibilities:
Plan, set up, and build projects for the lab in accordance with Lab standards and within the National Building Code.
Manage workload to maximize productivity, efficiency and safety
Collect and interpret data, assuring validity and appropriate detail
Provide input during planning stages
Provide design feedback during and after completion of work
Independently troubleshoot and diagnose common electrical and mechanical problems
Increase technical skills and knowledge of Trane products and processes
Promote established environmental, health, and safety procedures to ensure safety of oneself and others in the work area
Drives for continuous improvement
Support other projects and lab activities as needed
Train newer/ less experienced associates in Maintenance practices and procedures
Qualifications:
This role requires a Master Electrician, or nearing completion of Master Electrician
Proficient use of test equipment and computers
Strong attention to detail and organization
Strong Electrical and basic mechanical aptitude. Experience with electrical wiring and troubleshooting.
Understanding electrical drawings and schematics. Able to run conduit and electrical wiring to code. Troubleshoot control circuits and build control circuits. Trace wiring per schematics and an understanding of how the system operates. Make corrections to diagrams and drawings to reflect the proper function of the schematics.
Work with other Maintenance Technicians and help as needed outside of electrical work.
Follow good safety practices and contribute to the cleanliness and neatness as necessitated in a laboratory atmosphere
