Job Description
The Employee Relations Specialist - Accommodations is responsible for providing support and guidance, including recommending effective solutions to managers, employees and applicants in matters related to job or workplace accommodations. These accommodations may be based on the employee?s own medical condition, including pregnancy and conditions associated with pregnancy/post pregnancy, deeply held religious beliefs, or gender identity. The ER Specialist ? Accommodations is also responsible for ensuring support, guidance and solutions are compliant with applicable legislation and consistent with Aramark?s overall employment policies and practices.
Job Responsibilities
Counsel, guide, educate and recommend solutions to managers on matters related to job or workplace accommodations. Conduct interactive dialogues with requesting employees as needed to understand accommodation requests and determine if reasonable accommodations may exist. Respond to requests and escalations from third party administrator for Accommodations. Recommend resolution of employee relations and/or performance management/disciplinary matters, including terminations, regarding employees who are currently or were recently receiving an accommodation or who are covered by a related policy such as FMLA or Aramark?s Short-Term Disability, Long Term Disability, or Workers Compensation programs. Interact and collaborate to obtain or provide needed information to manage work to completion with other stakeholders, such as HR Business Partners, Employee Benefits, Labor Relations, myHR ?ER members, Worker?s Compensation and Aramark?s Accommodations third party administrator. Assist myHR ? ER team in resolving employee complaints related to job or workplace accommodations, including allegations of discrimination, harassment, or hostile environment based on disability or job or workplace accommodation matters. Provide non-routine ER Policy consultation, guidance and interpretation for employees and managers. Maintain documentation of work in accordance with myHR ? Employee Relations practices and standards, including use of case management system. Review dashboard metrics daily to optimize productivity and ensure work is completed in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs) Identify opportunities for improved quality, productivity, or service levels related to Accommodations. Escalates to Team Lead as appropriate. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor?s degree in HR or related field is required. 5+ years of experience in employee relations/HR generalist, including the equivalent of 2+ years working with workplace or job accommodation matters. HR certification is preferred. Experience working in a multi-state environment. Experience working in a shared services model desired. Exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a fair and consistent manner. Ability to handle stressful situations with grace and diplomacy and remain neutral in employee relations matters. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with individuals at all levels within the organization. Ability to handle sensitive and highly personal information on a daily basis and maintain confidentiality. Work independently to analyze data and provide management with constructive recommendations. Ability to prioritize caseload in accordance with established SLAs and standards. Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with case management technology preferred. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
