To assist in the engineering evaluation effort for this team, Amazon is looking to hire a FTVe-SDK, PQ APIs, and PQ Kernel Firmware Developer. With a focus on Picture Quality / Video Quality (PQ/VQ), this Software Engineer will help our teams develop new features and functions for our TV product lines.
This Software Development Engineer will be responsible to work with the PQ/VQ Display Engineer, the SOC providers, PM teams and other teams within Amazon, on the definition, architecture, implementation and use of development tools to add functionality to our TV and display devices. These new features and functions will help to ensure Amazon TVs are the best in class when it comes to PQ and VQ.
The candidate will also work with the FTV team, software developers - both internal, and 3P partners, and software QA groups to ensure that ODMs and Amazon engineers receive the appropriate knowledge and training to meet the high bar for PQ/VQ at Amazon.
Key job responsibilities
The potential candidate must be very knowledgeable about the design of TVs, and how software development of the FTVe-SDK, PQ APIs, and PQ Kernel Firmware interact and affect PQ/VQ, and also how these parameters are tested.
In this role, the candidate will need:
-Have a good understanding of how to design API connections between multiple devices and databases, cross-platform development, multiple coding languages C, C++, Java, Python, JavaScript, Node.js, Front-end application development, tool proficiency in Makefile, JUnit, J2EE, TortoiseSVN, MySQL, etc, -Linux device driver development.
-Participate in test plan generation, test plan development, and test script generation, validation, and testing these TVs.
-Work with Product Marketing, Hardware, Software, ODM partners, and SWQA teams on the development and validation of new features for FTV that meets and beats the expectations on PQ and VQ for that product.
A day in the life
This SDE will work with the Display Engineer, the SOC provider, PM and other teams within Amazon, on the definition, architecture, and use of development tools to add functionality to our TV and display devices. These features and functions will help to ensure Amazon TVs are the best in class when it comes to PQ and VQ.

About the PQ/VQ/AQ team: We are a small but influential team of Video and TV engineers who support the TV and Display device programs at Lab 126. We work hard to improve the Image and Video quality of our devices, advise the product definitions, the development, the test, validation, and advanced PQ/VQ/AQ features of our TV products. Basic Qualifications
-A degree in EE, CS or ME, with a solid understanding of TV technology.
-At least 2 years of experience in hands-on testing of TVs, especially in ensuring the quality of the display.
-An ability to architect, design and implement test automation in evaluating displays based on specific requirements. Experience with using PQ/VQ evaluation tools is a plus.
-Ability to manage testing PQ/VQ across multiple programs and organizing and working to a schedule through appropriate prioritization is a must.
-Candidate must be able to explain what each of these items contribute to a TV image.

Preferred Qualifications
-A Masters degree in EE, CS or ME, with a solid history in writing software utilities for TV devices.
-4 years of experience in hands-on software development and testing of TVs, especially in feature development ensuring the quality of the display.
-A history of results in TV architecture, design, development, and test automation.
-Experience with using multiple PQ/VQ software tool sets, and evaluation tools.
-Management history of testing PQ/VQ across multiple programs.
-A history of organizing and working to a schedule through appropriate prioritization.
