The Director-Tax is responsible for planning and filing of AT&Ts consolidated federal income tax return and quarterly estimates and cash tax budgeting. This position collaborates with other functional groups internally and externally ensuring compliance with federal reporting requirements.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
• Oversees process for calculating AT&T’s consolidated federal taxable income and related tax liability for ES payment purposes and annual return.
• Coordinate internally and externally to ensure the tax return is timely and accurately filed with the IRS with forms, statements, and elections are properly disclosed and in compliance with federal tax laws and regulations
• Prepare cash tax forecasting and manage external reporting analysis
• Maintain and enhance communication plans for the current year compliance cycle
• Manage an annual federal compliance calendar and oversees consolidated tax attribute inventory
• Point of contact for all consolidated tax return issues with Audits, Tax Accounting, and Research & Planning
• Advises management on the tax impacts of business decisions, mergers and acquisitions, business plans and federal legislative changes
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements in tax operations procedures
• Build, lead, and direct a diversified and successful team
• Other job duties as assigned
Required skills: Broad experience with federal income tax consolidations and related issues are essential along with proficiency in Corptax, Alteryx, and external reporting systems highly desired. Tax research, writing, communication, and organization skills are required to successfully meet job requirements and responsibilities.
Education: Bachelors or Advanced degree preferred. Certified Public Accountant or similar certification preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience and at least two years of management responsibility.
