WW is looking for candidates to help change people's lives. We are a global wellness technology company inspiring millions of people to adopt healthy habits for real life. We do this through engaging digital experiences, face-to-face workshops and sustainable programs that encourage people to move more, shift their mindset and eat healthier while enjoying the foods they love. By drawing on over five decades of experience and expertise in behavioral science, we build communities in order to deliver wellness for all.
Our Team
Today WW is undertaking a full-scale digital transformation, and the Data Team is in a crucial position to shape the future of our business and products. Leveraging tens of billions of data points per year, we produce insights that enable WW to better serve our millions of members worldwide.
At WW, the Data Team has a significant seat at the table. We report directly to the CEO and are equal partners with our peers in Product, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and beyond. There is an authentic appetite for data-informed decision making across the company, and our role is to educate and empower stakeholders by leading with transparency and expanding our stakeholders' understanding, often of deeply technical concepts.
Your Role
We are looking for a passionate, impact driven analytics leader who is excited to join a small, tightly knit org and drive a data-first culture across WW.
In this role, you will be at the forefront of WW strategy, collaborating with business and product leaders to optimize member success and business health. You'll lead a small team that primarily supports the Product function, including traditional Product Management, Product Growth, and Member Experience. You'll design and analyze experiments, develop ad hoc analysis to support strategic product initiatives, define and monitor performance KPIs, and drive Data+Product excellence by identifying and executing bespoke research initiatives. If you have an idea, explore it!
You will also partner closely with other Data Team leaders. Over the last year we acquired a new company, launched a new data warehouse on top of Snowflake, launched new billing and subscription systems, and changed how we process data. You will be a key partner - working with Analytics and Data Warehouse Engineering teams - as we continue to shape the future state of our infrastructure.
We are a flat organization where everyone rolls up their sleeves. Our leaders operate as player-coaches, and this role is no different. All members of our team - from the Chief Data Officer to our interns - write SQL, perform analysis, and share findings that move the business forward.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
Encourage early, frequent collaboration & peer review so we work with agility, fail fast, and learn more.
Create processes and safe spaces that facilitate transparent, actionable feedback and individual growth opportunities (through 1:1s, surveys etc), both within your team and with key stakeholders.
Define leveling expectations so that feedback is relevant to individual professional growth.
Data Leadership
Collaborate with other Data leaders to sequence initiatives, understand each others' roadmaps, and share knowledge.
Seek efficiencies and reduce single points of failure across Product Analytics.
Work with Data Warehouse Engineering and Data Science teams to build our common data stack and limit duplication of work.
Work with large data sets using tools like Python, DBT, and Looker.
Socialize product experience metrics throughout the organization.
Stakeholder Management
Tactfully educate non-technical stakeholders about complex technical concepts.
Be accountable for the support and success of our stakeholders, leveraging our team to the fullest to ensure our partners receive a top-flight work product.
Act as an escalation point for stakeholders across the business.
Prioritize & triage incoming initiatives for your team.
Support Product and Executive leaders as analytics needs emerge.
People Management & Mentoring
Drive technical excellence by acting as the final pass for code and analytics review.
Lead from the front when fires erupt! Roll up your sleeves, help solve problems, and provide air cover for your team.
Prioritize team development via regular 1:1s and coaching opportunities.
Empower your team to innovate and take big bites. Elevate your team members while remaining accountable for their work product. You are responsible for the quality of their work, but we strive for an independent and empowered team. This is a fine balance to walk!
Be a player-coach, leading by example, demonstrating technical excellence, and bringing others along for the ride
