The Team:
The Marketing Department in Canada is responsible for delivering business results by localizing and commercializing global marketing priorities to suit the specific needs of Canadian consumers and retailers. Our Marketing team works cross functionally to manage our portfolios, in all aspects, seeking to drive market share and hit financial goals. Brand and Marcom strategies are adapted for the Canadian marketplace and the team contributes to the development of local go-to-market programs with the Sales and Trade Marketing teams. The Marketing team is the engine for Mattel Canada, acting as business managers, with responsibility for delivering business results through pricing, line selection, marketing communications, media investments and close partnership with all stakeholders in the business. This team also drives digital strategies and ecommerce acceleration. Job Description
The Opportunity:
Reporting into the Country Manager, the Director, Marketing & Digital will lead the Marketing and Digital department. This leader will manage 3 direct reports and a total team of 13 staff. Key partners include Sales, Customer Marketing and lastly, the Licensing team to drive the franchise vision for our IP. This role is a key driver in developing demand creation strategies to deliver share gains for Mattel Canada, across multiple high-profile brands, including both owned IP (Barbie, Hot Wheels, Fisher-Price, etc) and partner brands (Disney Princess, Jurassic World, etc).

What Your Impact Will Be:
Responsible for leading and managing all brands to ensure that the team achieves its financial goals each fiscal year. Develop national strategy and consumer marketing programs across multiple product categories and customers.Develop strategic plans to reach P&L goals.Manage A&P budget/spend on consumer and customer programs.Engage with customers directly to share brand and market strategies gaining support for our product lines.Partner with multiple internal and external groups including Customer Marketing, Sales, Finance, PR, External Media, Promotional Agencies, Licensors, and Retail Buyers to develop strategic brand plans.Develop pricing strategies to achieve profit goals. Own final decisions on proposal for line selection and pricing of products.Responsible for E-commerce, Digital Marketing Optimization and Driving acceleration of digital knowledge throughout the organization.Foster a winning culture of thought leadership, engagement, and collaboration across the team. Lead with a focus on talent development mapping out learning opportunities for team members while creating a sustainable organization.Partner with multiple internal and external groups including Customer Marketing, Sales, Finance, PR, External Media, Promotional Agencies, Licensors, and Retail Buyers to develop strategic brand plans.Develop pricing strategies to achieve profit goals. Own final decisions on proposal for line selection and pricing of products.Responsible for E-commerce, Digital Marketing Optimization and Driving acceleration of digital knowledge throughout the organization.Foster a winning culture of thought leadership, engagement, and collaboration across the team. Minimum 10+ years’ experience in the arena of marketing, digital, and consumer productsBachelor Degree in Business or Marketing, MBA an assetHigh level of business acumen and executive edgeProven leadership developing high-performing teamsSuperior brand development and strategic planning skills with the ability to develop and execute 360-degree marketing and communication programs.Significant management experience, including organizational planning and employee developmentPrior leadership experience in marketing/brand management including managing multi-disciplinary cross-functional teamsAdvanced analytical and conceptual skillsExcellent written/verbal, time management and quantitative/analytical skills requiredAdvanced knowledge of international business practicesStrategic thinkerHigh level of business acumen and executive edge Additional Information Don’t meet every single requirement?
