As Biologic DS Platform Leader, you will have responsibility for our biologic global manufacturing platforms, across our network of internal sites and strategic external partners, and our upstream and downstream manufacturing processes, equipment, and plants working to drive higher productivity, and smarter and more innovative approaches to deliver our portfolio of critical products.
Key Responsibilities:This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, the responsibilities include the following:Biologic drug substance manufacturing platform and the aligned vision, strategy, and roadmap, and the resulting material, process, analytic, and control technologies.Process and economic models for evaluation of the new technologies, and then the design of new equipment and development of business cases and investment decisions.Facility and network models for anticipation of constraints and ensuring timely investment decisions to resolve them.Delivery of selected new technologies through our R&D, MSAT, engineering, manufacturing, and strategic supplier capabilities.Design, selection, and industrialization of new bench, clinical and commercial scale platform technologies including bioreactors, centrifuges, chromatography skids and columns, filtration and mixing systems, ultrafiltration, and storage.Developing and maintaining mechanistic and computational fluid dynamic models for new technologies and equipment.Delivery of technology projects and collaborations with engineering, technology supplier and academic groups.Design of manufacturing scale studies of new technologies and equipment to industrialize them and prepare them for commercial use.Supporting technology transfer, scale-up, process performance qualification, continued process verification, improvement, and troubleshooting with process modeling, analytics, and engineering expertise.
Why you?Basic Qualifications:We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:Master's degree in Biochemical Engineering or a similar discipline.10 or more years' experience in biologic product and process development and manufacturing.5 or years' experience biologic manufacturing technology development and industrialization, using process & economic modeling, and computational fluid dynamics modeling.Experience of biologic manufacturing and engineering standards and best practices.Experience of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's).
Preferred Qualifications:If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:PhD in Biochemical Engineering or a similar discipline.Experience in US, EU, Japan regulatory guidance and validation.Experience of biologic manufacturing technologies, including cell culture, separations, and filtration. Experience of sterile fill finish would be a further plus.Experience of oligonucleotide & vaccine product and process development and manufacturing.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Committed team player prepared to work in, and embrace, a team-based culture.Excellent judgement. Able to prioritize and decide appropriate courses of action. Effective at translating decisions to action. Track record of accomplishment.Able to interact well with peers, and senior leaders in scientific, technical, engineering, operational and quality disciplines.Strong verbal and written communication skills.
