  Job Description:

  The Payment Services Core Transaction technology team is seeking a Director of Software Engineering. Specifically, a passionate technology leader that LOVES creating and fostering a culture of software engineering and operational excellence.

  Overseeing multiple Product Areas and Families, you, in partnership with your Product and Technology peers and Sr. Engineering Managers, will have fun setting vision, driving innovation, and achieving delivery, operational and people excellence for the solutions that handle our end-to-end client onboarding and servicing journeys. This area is constantly providing personal and team-level fulfillment as you get to partner and delight so many key stakeholders across our credit and debit networks; domestically and internationally.

  Key Responsibilities:

  Provide technical leadership that establishes a unified Product and Technology roadmap while achieving a best-in-class software delivery and execution function for the Disputes, Cardholder Services/Commercial Products and Payments Platform enabling technology Product Areas.

  Engage in cross-functional relationships with Business Product Management, Enterprise and Domain Architects and Business consultants to understand product needs and delivery expectations. Drive continuous Product Area wide understanding of trends, existing products/capabilities via Product Area reviews, Product/Technology Roadmap reviews and learning sessions.

  Attract, build & mentor high-quality engineering teams that deliver high quality, performant solutions that drive customer, partner, and business outcomes. Drive a product mindset and cross functional team structure to support the strategy and fast paced delivery of quality, defect-free solutions.

  Provide product leadership/management for technology deliverables including planning, estimation, coordination, and execution.

  Define and/or achieve adoption of practices needed to achieve software, operational and people excellence in all areas including but not limited to SDLC, metric-based software delivery management (i.e., DORA), operational resiliency, skill competency maturity and product quality.

  Conduct research of strategic & emerging trends, lead proofs of concept and continuously drive innovation across the Product Areas.

  Encourage and foster an engaged culture of DE&I demonstrating high levels of engagement and favorability.

  Minimum Qualifications:

  Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Engineering

  10+ years Information Technology or related experience.

  2+ years of progressive people management experience.

  In lieu of education, 12+ years of Information Technology or related experience.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Experience across multiple tech stacks (cloud, vm) will position you to be successful.

  Experience in building scalable and highly available solutions a plus.

  Experience with the payment services industry/ecosystem a differentiator.

  Strong background and passion for software engineering principles, patterns and practices.

  Experience leading highly effective teams that design, build, and support of highly available applications.

  Excellent people leadership with the ability to attract, coach, mentor and develop technology leaders and software engineers.

  Experience leading in a product-centric software development organization.

  Relentless focus establishing and evolving engineering practices that embrace automation, quality and reliable software delivery.

  Outstanding collaboration and communication skills.

  Compensation:

  The base pay for this position generally ranges between $150,500.00 to $228,900.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
