Parametric is part of Morgan Stanley Investment Management, the asset management division of Morgan Stanley. This role is part of Parametric's hybrid working model, which includes working in the office 2-3 days a week and choosing to work remotely or in the office the remaining days of the week.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The ARC (Automation, Reinvention and Collaboration) team is the continuous improvement and innovation team within Operations at Parametric, with the goal of preparing and supporting a next-gen operations organization. The team works closely with technology, investment, and other functions and teams at Parametric to provide the platform, capabilities and enablement for operations to scale up and succeed.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The individual in this role will manage, coordinate, and implement continuous improvement of Operations in Parametric, providing data and insights, driving optimization, risk management for cross-functional activities across entire trade lifecycle from account inception through post trade settlement.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and drive execution of department projects and initiatives including technology components, with an initial focus on Fixed Income operations.
- Own risk oversight across Operations including an inventory control points, acceptable ranges and oversee their adherence. Act as independent auditor for each area of operations including incident review, trends and form recommendations on reduction. Compiles control points and an evaluation of risk in a consumable manner for Operations and organization leadership.
- Identify, develop, and drive continuous improvement opportunities and solutions in operations. Develop people to be change agents, empowering employees to act on improvements and change quickly - with or without the aid of technology.
- Represent Operations as a key business partner across the organization, keeping Operations at the forefront and actively engaged in business and product decisions. Act as a single point of contact for product management and other business stakeholders by facilitating innovation and a rapid pace of change.
- Establish training programs to upskill employees as well as provide input into the Operations Analyst Class Hire program
- Acts as a key enabler of data and automation to Operations to provide transparency of risk and continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's (4-year) degree with concentration in finance, accounting, engineering, computer science or similar field preferred
- 6-10+ years previous experience in the financial services industry or consulting
- Ability to function successfully in ambiguous conditions.
- Well organized, self-starter with the ability to analyze information and support the staff.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in coding (java, SQL, python etc.) and enabling data to various consumers.
- Must be comfortable with working with large datasets, performing analysis, identifying root cause and ideally usage of low code solutions such as Alteryx, RPA, and other tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must communicate well with all levels of staff and management, both internal and external
