Position Summary: Support distribution of Hartford Funds by strategically cultivating partnerships with the retirement business development resources at defined contribution record keeping firms, retail broker dealer firms, and DC aggregator firms. In this role you will have an assigned list of record keeper wholesalers, broker dealer retirement focused resources, and aggregator home office resources. A critical component of this role will be to develop a strong partnership with these identified key resources. The role will be required to drive value added activities into this very focused group of record keeper wholesalers and home office resources to have a significant impact on menu development, strategy selection, and Hartford Funds branding with the DCIO space. In addition, this team will partner and align with the National Accounts team to drive engagement and follow-up. The goal being to drive increased qualified referrals to the AC population.
This role requires being the DCIO expert on Hartford Funds Investment Strategies and Product Capabilities, in addition to our value-added support programs.
Responsibilities of the role:
Develop a business plan to partner with record keepers, retail firms and aggregator home office resources to drive sales of Hartford Funds products at targeted partner firms and other centers of influence utilizing our robust resourcesProfile opportunities and establish strategies that will result in capturing DC assets in Hartford Funds products in retirement plansWork in coordination with relationship management team to execute on campaigns and strategic priorities within focused record keeper, BD firms, aggregator firms home office resources.Respond to inquiries and resolves problems of a complex nature with key internal and external stakeholdersStay current and up to date with market, economic and industry trends, as well as competitor productsMaintain a detailed level of knowledge of Hartford Funds products and services and our positioning in partner firms' platformsManage time and travel budget to maximize sales opportunitiesRequires a balanced approach of activity level of in-person client engagement
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably business, economics, finance, sales or marketing (or equivalent on-the-job experience)3-5 years financial sales experience in DCI or retirement marketplace preferredExtensive knowledge of the retirement plan market, and an existing network of record keepers, retail firms, and aggregator relationships on assigned focus list.Deep knowledge of the DC channel including plan design, regulatory matters, investments, ERISA, distribution, and recordkeeping.Proven track record of retirement resource utilizationExcellent interpersonal, teamwork and relationship building skillsExcellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influenceExcellent group presentation and financial sales skillsExcellent organization skillsAptitude to creatively address complex issues and problems and provide guidance to retail sales team on a case-by-case basisMust be self-motivated and able to work effectively with minimal supervisionMust have ability to travel overnight approximately 50% of time
FINRA Series 7 and/or 63 required
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$125,000 - $150,000
