For over 70 years Global Industrial has been an industry leader providing private label and brand name industrial equipment and supplies to businesses throughout North America.
We carry over one million industrial, material handling and business products that are sold through our website, corporate sales people and full color catalogs. We are constantly increasing our product offerings to meet the diverse and changing needs of our customers. Our customers include small to large corporations, institutions, government agencies and consumers across North America.
Key Responsibilities
• Executing and maintaining standards and management of our product information
• Execute data cleansing exercises, supporting data normalization practices and establishing
governance strategies by defining and documenting product data standards
• Assist with onboarding new products to established KPIs
• Work closely with supplier partners to gather content and data
• Build and publish Master product data dictionaries, working with cross functional teams to
gain understanding and alignment
• Report out on key metrics related to data quality, accuracy and continuity
• Collaborate with stakeholders from all business units including Information Technology,
Product Management, Digital Merchandising, etc.
• Work with web data team and data scientists to help identify project requirements and
review deliverables
Competencies and skills
• BS/MS in Product Information, Information Science, Finance or related field preferred• 2-3 years of work experience.• Demonstrated knowledge around Data Cleansing & Standardization Process, Data Transformation & Governance, and Data Integration & Data Enrichment. Experience with a PIM system or similar product data management system preferred • Understands key concepts of data quality and accuracy best practices.• Motivated individual with strong organizational skills. Able to multitask in a fast pace environment. Resourceful, eager to learn, keen attention to details and deadlines.• Excellent written and verbal skills.• Strong interpersonal skills to work with various departments and suppliers.• Adaptable and flexible, comfortable with ambiguity and change.• Industrial equipment product knowledge a plus.• Proficient computer skills especially in MS Excel & data manipulation.
