About the Role
We're looking for a Data Scientist to join our Brand Science team and provide strategic insights, measurement, and optimization for a large brand marketing budget covering our Europe, Middle East and Africa region (EMEA). In the role, you'll collaborate with a cross-functional team consisting of marketing, research, media and design.
You have a growing passion for improving techniques, analytical insights, tracking, and technology used by marketing to achieve our goals. You will help address the challenges of experiment design, budget allocation, marketing effectiveness, user behavior, and channel effectiveness using groundbreaking methods.
As a member of the team, you will not only be able to perform analyses exploring our large and rich dataset, but also craft marketing and measurement strategy. You'll play a big role in finding opportunities to help the marketing function scale as we develop the global Uber brand.
What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points
Continually evolve and optimize to reflect our brand story, and educate and guide businesses at all stages of the decision making cycleWork closely with our media, research and marketing teams to develop actionable insights and recommendations to guide high level marketing strategy and advise improvements through the course of the campaign lifecycleLeverage rich internal databases to mine patterns on the most successful marketing tactics and understand customer behavior to give guidance on marketing briefsCollaborate closely with Applied Scientists to understand the ins and outs of various machine learning models and use them for campaign measurement and optimizationPresent insights and takeaways to executive leadership, using visualizations and storytelling to improve their impact and implementation
Basic Qualifications
Experience with SQL, Python or R, and data visualization (+3 years)Understanding of and experience with experimental design, causal inference, and econometrics techniques to measure the incrementality of marketing campaignsAbility to translate data science findings into business and marketing strategy improvementsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to understand partner needs, set expectations around feasibility, translate business challenges into research questions, and present findings to non-technical audiencesIntellectual curiosity and ability to provide thought partnership to executive partners
What the Candidate Will Do
