Summary About the Position: This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirements: A. Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. OR Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience. In addition to the BASIC Requirement: Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes modernizing research and analytics in machine learning, and the application thereof. Machine learning spans multiple fields to include computer vision, graph and anomaly detection, operational performance, programmatic optimization, talent management, and related fields.
