Job Description
An insurance client of Insight Global is seeking a CyberLife Programmer to join their Administrative Life and Annuity Systems Team. This person will primarily be responsible for enhancements, new development, and maintenance of their main Life and Annuity administrative system, CyberLife, and some minimal support to a similar system, PolicyLink. These are the two main administrative systems that support their Life Insurance business in overseeing applications, documentation and claims for their customers. The vast majority of their day will be split between production support and analysis on research for the business area at the data level, along with modification programming, and little new development responsibilities, specifically for the CyberLife system. This person should have proficient skills with COBOL programming on Mainframe as this is 95% of the language used and preferably CyberLife experience. This person will participate in a 24x7 rotation monthly, and also have the opportunity to work a 5/4 schedule from 7:30AM-4:50PM every day, with every other Friday off. This team sits in Galveston, TX, and is required on-site every day of the work week. Galveston is preferred, but Springfield, MO and Albany, NY, are also on-site locations available.
Skills and Requirements
7+ years of application development experience, specifically with COBOL, OR experienced in the Actuarial Profession, with strong Life Insurance product knowledge, who is looking to move into a programming position
Advanced proficiency in programming with an emphasis on COBOL, DB2 (JSON and XML), and Client Server technologies
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Experience using CyberLife or another administrative Life Insurance product applications (LifePro, Vantage, PolicyLink) Life insurance and annuity knowledge
Accounting, valuation, and/or billing experience
Assembler programming experience null
