Summary
Prepare quote proposal / analysis to aid business decisions. Scope of work includes product manufacturing and services cost estimation, price determination and final proposal submission.
This individual will be the leader of the Quote team. Primary role is to respond to Customer RFQ and enable profitable win business, while meeting internal business and financial metrics. Manages and leads the quote process, ensure quote accuracy, quality, compliance with Celestica‘s goals, responsiveness and rapid turn-around time of quotes. Leads others by supporting and executing all related processes and procedures. Trains, mentors and provides support to regions, sites and/or individuals for costing procedures and processes. Transforms product costing through continuous improvement of systems, methods and procedures This includes establishing plans/objectives, and developing policies for the function/unit. Accountable for projects or programs on a multi-functional, national, or regional basis. Work is guided by broad site objectives and corporate policy. Interacts regularly with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions and/or customers.
Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
Lead and manage 5-10 team members
Demonstrate the leadership skill among the quote team as well as influencing stakeholders and functional teams in achieving the same goal.
Review customer Request for Quotation (RFQ) /Request for information (RFI) and management's requirements to model cost and simulate pricing
Collect, consolidate and analyze data in order to identify the relevant cost drivers and estimate the time, cost, materials, labor, overhead and other costs, as well as capital required to manufacture a product and/or provide a service
Collaborate with internal functions globally and obtain appropriate inputs to estimate costs and prepare financial analysis, as well as provide inputs to the final proposals/quotations submissions to customers
Prepare and present financial analysis including analytics and insights to mid/senior level management regarding cost/price competitiveness, recommendations to make a product or service more cost-effective or profitable, as well as highlighting risks and mitigation tactics
Remain current on overall company goals and specific business unit strategy, value proposition and site capabilities in the areas of manufacturing processes, supply chain management and other services
Possess a thorough understanding of customer contracts’ key terms and conditions, pricing models and reflect appropriately in modeling and simulations
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
Excellent communication (English) and organizational (time management) skills are essential
Financial analysis skills including the ability to model and interpret Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow are essential
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to confidently communicate results of the analysis
Able to work and communicate effectively with all levels and functions within the organization
Advanced user of Microsoft Excel
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of employees.
Physical Demands
Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment
Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data
Repetitive manual movements are frequently required (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc)
Occasional overnight travel is required
Typical Experience
Ten plus years in Electronic manufacturing, finance or business development, preferably with quotation experience
Two plus years manufacturing cost estimation and/or cost accounting in manufacturing would be a plus
Typical Education
Bachelor's degree, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
