The Culture & Heritage Experience Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing various aspects of cultural and heritage experiences within Nujuma, a Ritz Carlton Reserve. Responsibilities as following:
Island Entertainment Program: Coordinate and manage a diverse program of island entertainment, featuring local artistic talent in music, art, and heritage activities.
Developing and implementing cultural and heritage programs : The manager is responsible for creating and implementing programs that promote cultural understanding and appreciation. This may involve organizing cultural events, exhibitions, workshops, performances, or heritage tours.
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders: The manager works closely with various internal departments and external partners such as RSG environmental, Cultural, & Engagement Department, artists, performers, historians, and community organizations to ensure the successful execution of cultural and heritage initiatives.
Managing cultural and heritage resources: This includes curating collections, artifacts, and archives related to culture and heritage, and ensuring their proper preservation, documentation, and display.
Visitor Engagement : Ensuring that visitors have a meaningful and immersive experience by providing information and immersive experience by providing information, guidance, and interpretation of cultural and heritage sites. This may involve training and supervising staff, developing educational materials, or utilizing technology to enhance visitor engagement.
Conducting research and analysis : The manager may be required to conduct research on cultural and heritage topics, analyze trends, and stay updated on relevant developments in the field. This information can be used to inform program planning and decision-making.
Promoting cultural engagement: The manager plays a role in promoting cultural engagement among the organization's employees, and the guests of Nujuma, a Ritz Carlton Reserve. This may involve collaborate with Marketing team for developing marketing strategies, coordinating outreach efforts, and fostering partnerships to enhance cultural participation.
Budgeting and financial management : The manager is responsible for developing and managing budgets for cultural and heritage programs, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
Evaluating program success: The manager monitors and evaluates the success of cultural and heritage programs, collecting feedback from participants and stakeholders, and making adjustments as necessary to improve future initiatives.
Cultural diplomacy: In some cases, the manager may engage in cultural diplomacy efforts, representing the organization at international events, fostering cross-cultural collaborations, and promoting cultural exchange between different communities and countries.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Cultural Studies, Heritage Management, Arts Administration, or a related discipline. Advanced degrees may be preferred.
Skills:
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to think creatively and develop innovative cultural and heritage programs.
Proficiency in budgeting and financial management.
Research and analytical skills to stay updated on cultural and heritage trends and developments.
Proficient in using technology and digital tools to enhance visitor engagement and program delivery.
Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with diverse communities and stakeholders.
