We are seeking a full-time Construction/Geosynthetic Technician to join our Construction Services team. This individual can reside near the state borders of eastern Ohio, northern West Virginia and western Pennsylvania. We encourage those in the surrounding areas such as Pittsburgh, Waynesburg, Washington, Steubenville, Wheeling, etc to apply as this opportunity requires working remotely on a project site in Brilliant, Ohio.
What You Will Do:As a Construction/Geosynthetic Technician, you will make a difference! Your daily field testing ensures compliance with industry standards, documenting the proper use of materials like soil, concrete, rebar, asphalt, and aggregate in construction projects. Join our team to contribute to the success of projects, ensuring everything is "built right." Although working outdoors may not be for everyone, advancing in your career will lead to more projects where you can proudly say, "I helped build that."Review plans and specs for construction sites.Record field activities, observations, and test results.Test soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and masonry mortar/grout for compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, DOT, and/or project specifications.Use tools like Metafield for daily recording.Communicate test results to Project Management and clients.Calibrate equipment to meet industry standards.Geosynthetic observation experience preferred with working knowledge of geomembrane liner, geotextiles, geocomposites, geosynthetic clay liner for landfills, impoundments, etc. applications.
Required Qualifications:High school diploma/GEDMinimum of 2 years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, geosynthetics, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materialsEffective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing), using the English languageAbility to complete data entry into multiple software applications on a smart device
One or More Active Certification(s) Preferred:Geosynthetic Certification InstituteAmerican Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technician; Special Inspector; Masonry Field Testing; Aggregate TestingNICET: Construction Materials Testing (Asphalt, Concrete, Soils)DOT Certifications in the fields of Aggregate, Conventional Density, Asphalt, and Concrete.
