The Staff Engineer has preliminary and detailed design responsibility, leadership of domestic US and global aerodynamic design teams, and project leadership responsibility towards the development of GE Aerospace's next generation commercial Fans, Boosters and Compressors and associated aerodynamic compressor technology while influencing and defining business strategy.

Roles and Responsibilities
Lead aerodynamic design, testing, and analysis of novel turbomachinery compression components, including fans, low-pressure compressors, and high-pressure compressors.Coordinate aero design with other technical disciplines with understanding of engine integration at system level.Influence and help define strategies for next generation compression components.Manage and drive research and technology activities targeting next-generation applications, including planning of external funding proposals.Participate in and lead technical reviews and support design best practices interfacing with the global GE Aerospace engineering team.Identify improvement opportunities and apply Lean tools to remove waste.Provide technical guidance and mentor/coach team members across the organizationSupport and drive the development and expansion of Compression Aero tools and processes related to design, analysis, test, and productivity.Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for projects and tasks.Good understanding of the physics and principles associated with compressor aerodynamic design.Proven track record in delivering on complex programs and ability to work in cross-functional global team in multi-cultural environments.Demonstrated ability to advance the technology state of the art and ability to generate innovative solutions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or universityMinimum of 5 years of experience with aerodynamic design of turbomachinery components, or close coordination with the aerodynamic design functions.
