Job Description
Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with five years of related experience in enterprise client server computing Linux and Windows system administration and application management. This experience should generate familiarity with distributed computing, scripting/programming, printing, mail systems, installation and configuration, security and third-party installations.
The candidate should be conversant with account management, performing system back-ups, maintaining system configuration files, connecting external storage devices, system and networktroubleshooting. Individual shall have a high level of understanding of operating systems and be familiar with Linux and Windows commands and utilities at the user and administrator level. Solid understanding of Unix Operating System; paging and swapping, inter-process communications, devices and drivers and file system concepts. Experience managing distributed computing with service experience in DNS, NFS and NIS or equivalent.
A successful candidate will be joining a team supporting internal customers implementing and managing lab infrastructure to meet the customer requirements. In this role, you will build, configure, administer and troubleshoot Linux and Windows servers and user workstation hardware and software; build and manage authentication, file sharing, and other collaboration servers to support groups of heterogeneous client systems. You will work with facilities security staff to develop and apply hardening steps for systems for classified use to NISPOM Chapter 8, JAFAN, and other customer standards. Document system configuration for new and existing systems. Experience with centralized authentication technologies such as LDAP and Active Directory domains in supporting (Linux/Windows) cross-platform clients is desirable.
The candidate should be customer service oriented, attentive to detail, self-motivated and work well in teams. You will also need to be willing to respond to occasional off-hours outages and take part in subsequent service restoration efforts.
Security experience should include Risk Managed Framework (RMF) compliance program awareness as stipulated by NISPOM/DAAPM.
The candidate shall demonstrate a complete understanding and application of Information Technology principles and standards while working under general supervision towards moderately complexity solutions. Expect project leadership and interaction with cross-functional senior personnel requiring relationship building between departments in the organization. Contributions to designs and purchasing decisions will be required. Knowledge of ITIL framework and experience applying to computing environment.
The candidate will need to be eligible to receive a security clearance within 3 months of hire date or have an active Secret clearance.
CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent) may be required to work in some of the customer labs, and preference will be given to candidates who hold this certificate.

- Experience with RedHat Kickstart, PXE Booting, Infiniband, RDMA
- Experience with RedHat LDAP, Kerberos on Linux- Windows and Unix/Linux interoperability services (e.g. centralized authentication technologies for cross-platform clients)
- Virtual machine (VM) technologies (ESXi, VCenter, VSphere)
- NetApp Management
- Automated backup systems
- Basic understanding of networking with Cisco equipment.
- TCP/IP and Microsoft Networking concepts
- CompTIA Security+ certification
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and move into positions either standing or kneeling that require connecting computing equipment up for use
- Experience operating in closed rooms and procedures supporting classified information.
- Manage the installation and upgrade of IT systems.
- Participate with project design/implementation phases and provides technical expertise.
- Troubleshoot difficult problems; work well with group of specialists supporting engineering customers.
- Ensure that the BAE Systems Classified Network are operating efficiently and optimally, so that all service level agreements (SLAs) are achieved.
- Diagram infrastructure using standard templates to illustrate solutions to customers and technical staff.
- Conduct testing of Windows and Linux Infrastructure design.
- Create and maintain documentation (standards, best practices) for supported technologies.
- Effectively communicate with customers and technical staff to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
- Must have a solid understanding of Windows computer and Server Environments.
- Familiar with operations of audit logs and making data available for reviewers.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $89650 - $152460

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
