  We offer a surprisingly great Compensation Package:

  Starting salary is between $55,029.65 - $79,230.63 annually ($27.31 - $39.32 hourly) based on skills and qualifications, with the high end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience. Because work-life-balance is a priority at State Farm, compensation is based on our standard 38:45-hour work week!

  Responsibilities

  When you join our team, you can feel good knowing you are helping our customers recover from the unexpected. This position is for a Weather and Catastrophe Claims Services Claim Specialist, handling homeowners, commercial and large loss claims from natural disasters and/or weather-related events. You will be the first point of contact to meet with our insureds, explain coverage, estimate damages, and help them through the claims process while providing Remarkable® service.

  Where you'll work:

  These are deployable positions with extensive travel throughout the U.S. with our Weather Catastrophe Claims Services (WCCS) team. To meet historical weather demand areas, selected candidates are required to reside in or relocate at their own expense to the following states: AL, AR, CO, North-FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, MN, MS, MO, NC, NE, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, VA, WI and WV.

  Over a 12 month period days deployed is some 220 - 240 days on average; this is no guarantee and could be more or less than this average range.A Catastrophe Day Off is provided weekly during a deployed assignment. A Provisional Weekend is available on defined intervals during deployments for a period of either 4 or 5 consecutive days off based on length of deployed assignment.Length of deployment varies per business demands.Hours of operation are continually evaluated and may change based on business need. Successful candidates are able and willing to work flexible work shifts and may be asked to work overtime and/or irregular hours and holidays, based on workload and job requirements. Candidates may be asked to work outside of their assigned territory as business needs dictates.

  Qualifications

  Competitive Candidates must demonstrate the following:

  Excellent customer service and decision-making skills Physical agility to allow for: walking; bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, stooping, frequent lifting, carrying, unfolding, and climbing a ladder; ability to utilizing appropriate equipment in accordance with safety guidelines to traverse roofs at various heights and pitches for inspection of both residential and commercial structures; ability to crawl in tight spaces to gather information needed during the adjustment of a claim.May be required to complete Rope and Harness Safety Training (RAST).You may be required to obtain a Property and Casualty Adjuster's License in every state that requires claim handlers to be licensed.A valid driver's license is requiredPreferred Skills:

  Xactimate, XactContentsRelevant claims adjusting experience and/or construction backgroundEmployees must successfully complete all required training, including applicable licensing exam(s), MVRs and background checks required of various state(s).

  All employees in support and professional roles selected for a Claims position will have a time in role commitment (6 months for promotions, 12 months for lateral) beginning on the effective date of transfer which must be met by the end of the posting period for any other State Farm positions. Exceptions to the time in role commitment period may be considered on an individual basis, consistent with business needs and management approval.
