Job Summary:
The Systems Engineering group is looking to hire a Chief Engineer to lead a Transition to Production Team in Tucson, Arizona. The Chief Engineer will be responsible for technical leadership of all activities related to transitioning systems into production. This includes working across disciplines and functions to develop a plan, build consensus on the approach, trade and estimate costs and impacts, advocate for the program, and influence internal and external decision making to achieve a balanced, risk-based path to production that satisfies Customer needs.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Establish and manage a product vision, strategy, and goals to align with Program and Customers and facilitate conflict resolution.
Ensure technical integrity and engineering execution across the IPT and other functions to meet and/or exceed cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
Frequent technical interaction with USAF customers. Recommend and discuss plans and their alternatives; report status and convey technical considerations to RTX and Government teams.
Interact with suppliers and Government agencies to develop plans, influence funding, and drive the community to a singular solution.
Train and mentor team leads to organize and perform technical activities while planning for an early transition to production.
Develop effec ti ve internal and external customer rela ti onships to ensure customer sa ti sfac ti on and con ti nued business
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline
12 or more years of relevant work experience including prior experience in a technical leadership role.
U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Experience leading engineering teams.
Qualifications We Value:
Experience developing work plans, facilitating implementation, and managing resources with multi-million dollar annual budgets
Experience in strategic development, customer interface, or contract capture
Training, certifications, and/or demonstrated experience acting in a Chief Engineer role
Experience across the product lifecycle, including concept development, architecture, design, integra ti on, verifica ti on, produc ti on, and sustainment
Experience and ability to interact with and influence Department of Defense (DoD), or commercial customers
Experience with Engineering Risks and Opportunities (R&O) Management
Experience mentoring and guiding the technical and leadership development of engineers and subordinate leaders
Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related discipline

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
