Responsibilities
This position is hybrid in-office and work from home within the Greater Sacramento, CA region.*
Position Summary:
The Charge Capture Specialist is responsible for aiding in maintaining systems, processes, and workflows for the timely and accurate recording of professional fee revenue. This position requires interaction with the clinic, billing, and coding staff to ensure submission of clean claims.
Responsibilities may include:
Completes complex daily charge file submission from external charge capture systems and files to transmit all charges into the Dignity Health Medical Foundation’s practice management system.
Runs, reconciles, and resolves interface error reports to capture missing charges.
Researches and works assigned edit work queues in the practice management system to correctly bill claims.
Runs and reconciles monthly hospital and surgery charge reports to ensure all billable services are captured.
Ensures all charges are abstracted and entered in established time frames set by Leadership.
Meets set productivity and accuracy standards set by Leadership.
Works with multiple departments and assigned Supervisor to ensure all errors submitted to the Physician Coding Department are resolved in a timely fashion.
Monitors and tracks all charges received from clinics to ensure accurate and timely billing.
Ensure all charge batches are balanced to maintain charge capture accuracy.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
2+ years of medical office or billing experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to type or 45-60 words per minute.
Preferred Qualfications:
CPC-A or CPB from AAPC preferred
Familiarity with IDX, Cerner, and Ingenious Medicine preferred
Pay Range
$20.71 - $28.48 /hour
