Chapter Leader, Full Stack Engineering
The Role
As a Fidelity Institutional Technology Chapter Leader, you blend deep Software Engineering knowledge with a passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing associates. You are committed to improving the value delivered to our customers by collaborating with other leaders to establish standards for our chapters, influencing strategic decisions and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions. You will directly manage a team of chapter members (Software engineers, Quality Engineers and/or Systems Analysts) who work on the Wealthscape product. You will work in partnership with Squad Leaders and other Chapter Leaders aligned to the supported Product Areas. You are intellectually curious and are committed to developing your own expertise and empowering others by bringing the latest thinking to your role. By demonstrating and promoting Fidelity and agile leadership behaviors, you help evolve and sustain our innovative, agile culture.

Through our "Dynamic Working" plan, most associates will have a hybrid schedule with a requirement to work onsite at a Fidelity work location for at least one week, all business days, every four weeks. Manages technology associates: career development plans, provide honest and constructive feedback via weekly 1:1's/quarterly reviews/annual reviews, ensure associates are utilized and challenged to their full abilitiesSupports and empowers chapter members to enable delivery of valued solutions in their teams through continuous improvement and learningEnsures chapter talent aligns with strategic business and technology prioritiesPartners with Architecture, Cybersecurity and Enterprise Infrastructure to understand new directives and directionsEnsures the delivery of quality technology solutions to complex business problemsActively shares insights, knowledge, industry practices and developments across the ChapterProactively partners with Chapter Area, Product Area, Center of Excellence, and Squad Leaders to:Influence strategic backlog and prioritization decisions balancing business priorities with strategic technology prioritiesInfluence development opportunities to help advance associate skillsSet and apply standards and ensure the work performed is aligned with established road mapsDrive stability and observability with all software products in our production environments
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field8+ years of experience delivering various components of scalable enterprise applicationsExperience leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing people and teams in an agile organizationAbility to understand the end-to-end technology and software architecture of an applicationExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with which to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships at all levels of the organizationAbility to tactfully influence others in pursuit of strategic technology prioritiesDecision making experience using a data-focused approachA highly curious and motivated learner and leader with strong problem-solving skillsExcellent planning, organizational, and time management skillsApproaches work with an open mind and sense of creativity by challenging current practices and recommending improvementsAbility to navigate ambiguous circumstances while demonstrating flexibility and adaptabilityGrowth mentality with a passion for continuous learning and developmentExperience with any/all of the following would be a significant plus:Unit testing and test automation libraries/strategiesAdaption of continuous-delivery based engineering practicesFront-end web development using responsive frameworks like Angular and JavaRunning software on Cloud Service Providers like Amazon Web Services

As members of the FI Technology Operations and Service Chapter, we provide support for the FI Operations Experience and Platform Access Product Area. We develop and support applications that empower our clients to meet their business objectives via the Wealthscape Platform.
