Part of the Supply Chain family, Procurement is responsible for over 30B Euro of material and services spend globally with more than 60,000 suppliers, over half of them in MBS. Getting the right services and materials, sustainably sourced and ensuring responsible procurement is critical to ensuring our brands with purpose grow. Our teams work closely with the business to understand stakeholders needs, bring innovation to meet changing consumer, employees', and customers' needs, and drive financial value for Unilever through competitive buying. ABOUT MBS
MBS, Unilever's Marketing and Business Services Procurement team, is responsible for Unilever's sourcing and supplier strategy and execution for all third party spend across Marketing, Business Services, and IT, supporting the business requirements of Brands, Divisions, Markets, and functions to drive 4G growth through strategic supplier management, cost and value management, sustainability, and innovation, aligned with Unilever's Compass. The team manages an annual spend of ~10B Euro with a supplier base of about 40,000.
JOB PURPOSE
The Change and Communications Manager for MBS Spend Optimization is a key role to enable the successful delivery and sustained adoption of the MBS Lighthouse programme. Through MBS Lighthouse, we will create sustainable savings and value creation through spend optimization across all aspects of MBS. This programme supports a focused approach to drive different ways of working to shape long term value creation. This role is a key part of the core value delivery team.
The role will work closely with the Head of MBS Spend Optimization and the Spend Optimization Manager, as well as MBS VP, MBS LT, and senior executives across the Unilever business environment, to design and implement a comprehensive change management and communications plan that will drive awareness, engagement, and commitment to the programme objectives and outcomes. The role will also coordinate with the relevant partner functions, such as Supplier Ops, Procurement Strategy & Insights, VMO, Finance, Legal, and others, to ensure alignment and consistency of messages and actions. The role will leverage best practices and tools from the Unilever Change Management Framework, as well as bring creativity and innovation to the change and communications approach. This role is expected to be in place for a three year time horizon, and concludes by ensuring sustainable and ongoing capabilities and value delivery for lasting impact.
The successful candidate will have a strong background and experience in change management and communications, preferably in a procurement or business transformation context. This person will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to craft and deliver compelling stories and messages for various audiences and channels. This person will also have a good understanding of the MBS procurement landscape, including supplier strategies, procurement systems and processes, and partner functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES Designing and implementing a change management and communications plan for the MBS Lighthouse programme, aligned with the programme objectives, scope, and timelinesConducting stakeholder analysis and change impact assessment to identify the key audiences, needs, and risks for the programmeDeveloping and executing a stakeholder engagement and communication strategy, using a variety of channels and formats, to raise awareness, generate interest, and drive commitment to the programmeCreating and delivering engaging and impactful content and materials, such as presentations, newsletters, videos, podcasts, webinars, infographics, etc., tailored to different stakeholder groups and levelsMeasuring and monitoring the effectiveness and impact of the change and communications activities, using feedback mechanisms and KPIs, and adjusting the plan as neededCollaborating and coordinating with the MBS VP, Head of MBS Spend Optimization, the MBS LT, and partner functions to ensure alignment and consistency of messages and actions across the programmeSupporting the adoption and execution of the MBS Lighthouse strategy, by providing change management and communications guidance and support to the MBS and partner teams involved in the programmeLeveraging internal and external best practices and tools for change management and communications, and bringing creativity and innovation to the approachProactively identifying and mitigating risks and issues related to the LH programme, its adoption and execution, and successful delivery.Success metrics are stakeholder satisfaction, programme awareness, engagement, and adoption, value delivery as per MBS Lighthouse, and embedded sustained ways of working for the long term. 8+ years of change management and communications experience, preferably in a procurement, supply chain, or business transformation context
Strong knowledge of Unilever Change Management Framework and tools, as well as other relevant methodologies and frameworks
Experience in designing and implementing change management and communications plans for large, complex global programmes
Experience in developing and delivering engaging and impactful content and materials, using a variety of channels and formats, tailored to different stakeholder groups, levels, and cultures
Knowledge and experience with Unilever operating context and culture strongly preferred
Knowledge of MBS procurement landscape, including supplier strategies, procurement systems and processes, and partner functions
General Skills & Competencies

Recruitment Fraud
Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
How is Unilever tackling this?
Many of Unilever's recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
