Responsible for aiding in the billing and collection processes under thedirect supervision of the Director of Billing Operations. The CashPoster/Post Payment Specialist primarily will be assigned duties in bothpayment posting and post-payment/follow up work. The Cash Poster/PostPayment Specialist may be assigned duties pre-billing, medical coding,and other specialized billing, and/or collections, as well. In addition,the Cash Poster/Post Payment Specialist will be responsible foranswering incoming phone calls from patients, facilities, and otherpatient representatives in regards to outstanding bills. ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Duties to be performed include theaccurate and timely posting of paper and electronic payments. ?Responsible for managing various aspects of deposits, such as collectingdaily deposits and taking deposit to the bank; confirming deposits;associate deposit batches and posting daily deposits in Intact; matchbank deposits and post accordingly, locating EOB on websites, if notavailable. ? Posting Credit Card and ACH payments. ? Responsible forreviewing and working outstanding claims for proper reimbursement. ?Responsible for working denied and underpaid claims, appeals, and phonecalls as appropriate. ? Gather supporting documentation to supportauthorization or appeal. ? Follow up with payers over the phone to getstatus of claims. ? Answer incoming phone calls from patients,facilities, attorneys, etc. ? Prepares outgoing mail ? bills, invoices,statements, and reports. ? Other tasks as assigned.
