Harlem Children's Zone (HCZ) - a world-renowned education and poverty-fighting organization based in New York - seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated, and mission-aligned Career Exposures & Events Coordinator to join our Wealth Builds team.
The Career Exposures & Events Coordinator will bring a passion for the mission of Harlem Children's Zone: break the cycle of intergenerational poverty with comprehensive, on-the-ground programming that builds up opportunities for children and families to thrive in school, work, and life.
Wealth Builds is an innovative effort to eliminate the racial wealth gap through nine evidence-based pillars beginning in Harlem and ultimately expanding to up to 10 cities nationwide. Our theory of action is that cradle-to-career services plus capital leads to social and economic mobility. Through Wealth Builds, we are providing financial education and infusions of capital, with the goal of increasing social, financial, and human capital, ultimately generating wealth for our youth.
We are seeking a committed and organized Coordinator to support career exposures and events for the K-12 pipeline. This role will sit on the Wealth Builds team, a high-priority strategic initiative at HCZ focused on creating pathways to social and economic mobility. The Coordinator will possess excellent project management, organization and prioritization, and written and verbal communication skills. The successful candidate will be a strong collaborator who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, and highly team-oriented environment. This Coordinator will be primarily responsible for the execution of a portfolio of career exposures programming for K-12 students, including Career Days, workshops, entrepreneurship courses, and internship opportunities.

What you'll do
Support the smooth and efficient execution of program operations, under the management of the Director and Assistant Director Creates and maintains strong collaboration structures with counselors and coordinators across multiple teams to implement programming Designs and implements a calendar of career exposures that complements existing career readiness curriculum Supports event planning of Career Days, career workshops, and other career exposure events for K-12 students Manage project trackers and monitor timelines, providing summary updates for HCZ leadership and staff Support execution of the internships process for high school students, including sourcing placements, conducting career readiness workshops, and matching students to Internship sites Tracks key outcomes & metrics for career programming, using data to inform continuous process improvement Research and support outreach and communication to vendors and other providers of career programming (such as entrepreneurship courses) to provide essential exposure opportunities for students Perform other duties and projects as assigned
