About the role
The purpose of the Capital Project Coordinator position is to provide administrative support for a team of project managers for major pharmaceutical clients. The ideal candidate will be accountable for issuing, monitoring, and controlling CBRE and client-specific work permits which ensure initiatives are delivered in a manner aligned with local norms.
This is an onsite position located in Branchburg, New Jersey.
What you’ll do
• Collaborate and be the voice for the Building Engineering Team, Project Management delivery team(s), and onsite vendors and contractors to ensure projects are carried out with a CBRE Zero incident safety culture.
• Coordinate with Project Management to achieve a Facility Protection Plan to minimize the impact of construction activities within occupied areas of a building.
• Ensure all applicable work permits on assigned projects are aligned with policies and closed daily.
• Work closely with internal teams and client representatives, including the client fire marshal, to ensure project material is properly stowed in acceptable laydown areas.
• Ensure timely communication with the Project Manager on your assigned projects.
• Ensure contractor timesheet accuracy on T&M invoiced projects within the assigned project portfolio.
• Promote and maintain balanced relationships with external consultants and vendors while holding them accountable for delivering their scope of work in a timely and consistent fashion.
• Deliver middle service between GC and the project management team.
• Create permits using a proprietary system to create and process permits at will.
• Collaborate with the safety manager to handle hot work, safe work, lock-out tag-out, and confined space processes.
• Coordinate and facilitate meetings and communication plan(s) regarding projects among teams and/or clients
• Performs duties related to the hazard identification and control process, safe work planning, inspection, and assessment.
• Demonstrates understanding in the areas of incident investigation, safe work, hot work, general construction, trenching, excavating, lock-out tag-out, electrical safety, and confined spaces.
• Prepares standard project status reports for project delivery team or work group, client, and management. Reports typically include status updates, budget, schedule, and risk.
What you’ll need
Associate's degree or 2 years of related experience in Construction, Safety, or Engineering Technology in lieu of degree.
A minimum of two years of proficiency with construction practices and workflow is required.
Experience with HS&E, Lock-out/Tag-out, and OSHA certification is preferred.
Proven proficiency working in regulated environments such as Pharma, R&D, Labs, or other Life Sciences buildings is a plus.
Working experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Working onsite five days per week is required; Ability to work after hours and weekends is strongly desired.
