Job Responsibilities
Creare LLC seeks a Buyer to support the product and service needs of our engineering, fabrication and administrative staff in a busy and highly technical environment, with an emphasis on quality, accuracy, timeliness, overall value, and control. This candidate must exercise sound judgment, effective collaboration with colleagues and ensure appropriate documentation in the conduct of business and purchasing on behalf of the firm. The Buyer must adhere to ISO9001/AS9100 compliant departmental and company policies as well as FAR, DFAR, ITAR and Export Control policies and procedures to assure all quality and contractual requirements are carried out in an active environment across a wide diversity of technologies. Other duties include expediting orders to ensure on-time delivery, identifying primary or alternate sources for materials and services, obtaining quotations, and negotiating price, terms of payment and transportation for both domestic and foreign purchases. The Buyer must also cultivate effective working relationships with vendors, internal customers, and coworkers, evaluate new suppliers, maintain our Approved Supplier Database and maintain our Insurance Database.
Professional Requirements
AS degree and 3-5 years of relevant purchasing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. PreferredBS or BA in business and 3-5 years of purchasing experience in an engineering research and development environment with technical and electronic component knowledge and experience; strong attention to detail; a strong work ethic; the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively; flexibility and follow-through. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, vendor liaison expertise, and competency with computers and software (purchasing systems, databases, spreadsheets, word processing) required. Familiarity with FAR, DFAR, GIDEP, Government Contract requirements and Deltek Costpoint software is a plus.
