Job Description Summary:
The Business Director, Life Sciences ANZ, will lead, develop and execute sales and marketing strategies for our Specimen Management, Diagnostic Systems, and Biosciences segments. Ensure that each strategy has an effective tactical plan to drive revenue growth, increase market share and achieve profit targets by delivering complete solutions for our customers. You will actively contribute to the strategic planning of BDX in the development of regional and global strategies for the Life Sciences division. In essence, your expertise and leadership will play a vital role in shaping the success and expansion of our Life Sciences businesses in the ANZ region.
Responsibilities:
Establish business strategies, objectives, policies and set performance standards and targets.Analyse economic, social, technical, legal and other data or trends for integration into strategic plans.Direct business activities for the achievement of short and long term business objectives, increased profit, and market influence.Liaise with key national customers, industry associations and local/federal government departments to keep abreast of changes impacting the marketPrepare budgets, reports and forecasts and ensure timely monitoring and corrective actions take place.Maintain a close working knowledge of performance indicators.Lead, engage and continue to build and develop an effective ANZ Life Sciences team.Monitor and evaluate individual and team performance.Provide prompt focused directional feedback and support.Identify, coach and develop talent.Act as an internal champion for key systems and processes including Customer Centricity, Sales and Marketing Excellence including BD Way of Selling and Marketing, S&OP, and the Quality Management System.Manage close contact and communication with regional and worldwide teams to ensure focus on key growth engines is maintained and that local strategies align with global initiatives.Actively participate as a member of the ANZ Leadership Team and other cross business initiatives to enhance corporate transformation and promote BDX interests.Take a BDX approach to decision making to maximise opportunities for other businesses or geographic areas, whilst advancing the ANZ Life Sciences business segments.Ensure all activities of BD ANZ Life Sciences comply with relevant Acts, legal demands and ethical standards.Adhere to the requirements of the Quality Management System as maintained by BD Australia and New Zealand.
Required knowledge and experience:
10 -15 years' experience in marketing and sales is desirable.Healthcare industry experience highly desirable.Demonstrated leadership capability - leading people leaders, talent management, financial, sales, marketing and operational management.Analytical with strong attention to detailExperience in capital equipment sales and/or pathology industry highly desirable.Ability to understand the needs of the business and our customers and translate that into a tactical approach that aligns with our strategy.Consultative approach - comfortable being challenged in your thinking.Strong financial acumen - good understanding of P&L management and analysisComfortable working with ambiguitySelf-aware - able to use the talent in the team to support decision making and ideas.Continuous and Versatile LearningThought leadership and an ability to effectively communicate to influence others to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.Tertiary qualified, preferably with a degree in the sciences or related field
