The Benefits & Wellness Manager will bring a passion for the mission of Harlem Children's Zone: break the cycle of intergenerational poverty with comprehensive, on-the-ground programming that builds up opportunities for children and families to thrive in school, work, and life.
The Benefits and Wellness Manager will bring a strong benefits program experience and is passionate about analysis, program design, and teamwork. The manager will provide strategic, consultative guidance and will be responsible for designing and administering various benefit and wellness programs that attract, retain, and motivate top talent. Reporting to the HR Operations Managing Director with dotted line to the CHRO, this is a unique opportunity to join a mission-driven organization with an inclusive culture to do impactful work. This role is located at the HCZ HQ offices in Harlem. It is a hybrid schedule of 3 days in office.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business Management, or related field Experience in driving high-performance teams 8+ years of work-related experience in a benefits program management role.

Strong knowledge and experience in regulations related to Benefits (e.g., ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA...). Ability to deliver clear and pragmatic solutions to leaders, based on strong knowledge of the organization, technical acumen, data-driven conclusions. Strong understanding of HR and vendor systems, how systems work together, and downstream impact of data quality. Trustworthy, credible, and non-political; high level of integrity Functional/Technical Expertise - Solid benefits administration program experience in evolving environments Values - Alignment and modeling of organizational values Learning Abilities/Tech Savvy - Resilient and open to learning and capability to apply the learning real time. Understands the use of technology tools to drive efficiency and scale. Strong Communicator - Ability to communicate at all levels in the organization including senior and executive leaders. Willingness and ability to build strong, productive collaborative relationships within and outside of HR. Influence - Ability to influence individuals across all levels of the organization Confidentiality & Discretion - Treat compensation matters with strict confidentiality and a high degree of discretion
What you'll do
Design and implement benefits programs and employee services that reflect market competitive reviews, surveys, financial analysis, and management. Ensure documentation such as plan documents, plan amendments, summary plan descriptions, tax filings, or other documents are in place to ensure compliance. Manage vendor, consultant, and outsourced relationships. Ensure that plans meet legal, regulatory, and audit compliance requirements. Plan, develop, and implement new and revised benefit programs in partnership with HR Ops, Legal and Finance teams. Lead Open Enrollment including design, content and delivery of employee communications. Craft and provide services to employees that enhance their employee experience. Provide on-going outstanding support to all employees, building upon our Excellence in Employee Experience goal.

The annual starting salary for this position is $90,000 with a comprehensive benefits package including employer-covered health insurance.
