The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization. Space and Launch Division is seeking an Associate Mission Planner to join our team in Herndon, VA. The Space and Launch Team creates the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit. We work with proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space. Our team focuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.
Position Overview:
The Experienced Mission Planner position will be a part of a high-performing team in a very dynamic environment. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to train and certify on a complex system to include scheduling resources, maintenance, user support, collaboration and system expertise to meet program requirements. This position will support program and customer needs on a regular day staff with occasional need for surging to 24x7 coverage.
Position Responsibilities:
Ability to work a shift in a 24x7 Operations team environment to include working weekends and holidays.
Troubleshoot and resolve problems following defined procedures.
Escalate issues as required.
Recognize and document system discrepancies.
Identify and propose opportunities for system improvement.
Coordinate, update and create necessary procedures & documentation.
Collaborate with other teams and individuals.
Willingness to complete positional and corporate training requirements.
Certification required – Combination of self-led reading, observation, and on the job, training provided, resulting in a passing evaluation from designated trainer, evaluator & operations manager.
Adjust to changing priorities, multiple demands and crises.
Demonstrate attention to detail.
Participate in the development of engineering processes, methods and tools for use as a planner.
Understand and support customer needs and priorities.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Work Authorization:
This position requires an active U.S. TS/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active). Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Ability to complete a certification program. Specialized training provided (combination self-study and on-the-job (OJT) training) in order to learn the necessary skills allowing them to obtain the necessary certifications required for this position.
Willingness to work a rotating shift to include weekends, holidays, occasional 24x7 support, and overtime.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience managing customer relationships.
Attention to Detail
Experience working in UNIX and Windows environments.
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master, 6 year's related work experience, etc.).

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range (Associate - Level 2): $78,200 - $105,800
