Toquote a popular saying at TNC, "you'll join for the mission, and you&WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHERThe Associate Director of Development, Caribbean (ADOD) is asenior-level fundraising position which develops, implements, and manageseffective multi-year strategies and plans for the cultivation and solicitationof gift prospects, with a particular focus on individual donors and/orfamily offices and foundations. The ADOD will identify and engage newindividual prospective donors who are currently affiliated and unaffiliatedwith TNC and seek to motivate them to invest in TNC's conservationmission in support of our work across the Caribbean. The ADOD will developqualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies fora portfolio of donors interested in supporting TNC's conservationefforts in this region and in collaboration with TNC's executive,conservation, and fundraising leadership and with TNC's networkof committed volunteer leaders, donors, partners and friends. . The donorsmanaged by the ADOD will require sophisticated relationship management, ahigh degree of knowledge of assets and ownership structures, and an expertunderstanding of the factors influencing philanthropic giving. They will focuson long-range strategic priorities and be responsible for donor strategy andproposal development, working with conservation and development staff, aswell as donors, to create transformational giving opportunities. The ADODreports to the Director, Regional Strategic Development, and will be amember of the World Office Global Development Team. They will be part of across-cutting global team focused on engaging global citizens in wealthcenters around the world who are seeking to improve conservation andenvironmental outcomes, for both people and nature. The ADOD will have astrong dotted line to the Executive Director of the Caribbean Division andwork closely with other leaders within the Division. The ADOD understands andapplies complex principles of developing donor strategies and builds strongrelationships with a portfolio of new and current donors and prospects. TheADOD will cultivate donors from annual giving to major / principal orplanned gifts. They will be responsible for direct asks in support ofCaribbean Division priorities to meet funding needs. They discuss assetsproficiently and listen for opportunities for gifts of assets or othernon-cash gifts, such as planned gifts and trade lan s. They will incorporateblended gifts and gifts of assets in proposals to donors. They are capable ofdiscussing the priorities of TNC writ large and in the Caribbean. Theyunderstand organizational budgets and are proficient utilizing this knowledgeto build proposal budgets. They have knowledge of charitable giving with afocus on high-net-worth individuals and the ability to discuss complexcharitable gift options with donors. They will work across global markets andother business units, with a focus on raising funds for TNC'sCaribbean Division. They will work across Conservancy chapters and programsand manage a referral network. The ADOD will staff leadership as a movesmanager as appropriate and participate in the Caribbean Division'sstaff Leadership Council.
