ROLE SUMMARY

Strong authentication and authorization controls are vital to the security and operational resilience of Pfizer. Directory and Authentication owns and operates services that ensure people can gain access to what they need in a secure manner. IAM manages the lifecycle of corporate identities, authentication services, digital credential services, and access review services with a variety of commercial, custom, and open-source solutions.
This role requires a balance of technical expertise and good communication skills to drive effective external identity practices.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Authentication Engineer Associate: Help design and implement secure authentication systems, ensuring the protection of sensitive data and user information. The role will evaluate and select appropriate authentication protocols and technologies based on industry standards and best practices and provide technical support and guidance to the other authentication teams on authentication-related issues and challenges.
Automation: Help drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of Pfizer's authentication environments.
Risk Management: Respond to security incidents related to compromise and help investigate to determine root causes and remediation actions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree in a relevant discipline.4+ years of experience working as an authentication engineer or in a similar role, with a strong focus on authentication protocols and technologies within an organization with greater than 50,000 users.Knowledge of authentication protocols such as OAuth, SAML, OpenID, and Kerberos.Familiarity with encryption techniques and security standards.Knowledgeable in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++Able to work under general supervision using own judgment where needed.Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to write and verbally articulate industry terminology to interact at a technical and managerial levels.
